Services
Winemaking
I provide services to the 1st time vintner, or a winery veteran who just needs a hand. I have the ability to negotiate terms at a custom crush facility, complete processing from grape to bottle, as well as marketing strategies and Private label options.
I work primarily with a hands-on approach, showing up at the winery when the fruit arrives, checking all conditions prior to crush, tank allocations, as well as all materials in place for crush. I have a vast network in the Bay Area at many crush facilities, as well as Santa Barbara, Mendocino and Paso Robles. You can rest assured you’re in good hands.
Packaging
Making wine is the fun part, but ultimately most people have a desire to take the product to market, or simply store it for personal consumption. Either way, we’ll need to manage bottling dates, ordering glass, closures (cork), and any and all other materials to get us into bottle and case goods.
compliance
It’s a dirty job, but someone has to do it. I work directly with clients to assure they cross the t’s and dot the i’s. Compliance is necessary in order to go to market. Yes, we’ll need a bond or use someone else’s bond to crush. I walk through all the details of licensing and fees that will need to be covered in order to take wines to market.
Custom Crush management
Having worked in and around Custom Crush facilities for years, I have intimate knowledge of how such facilities operate. I also have a large network that expands to these facilities, where I have developed trusting relationships with management and production staff. Having years of production experience, and familiarity in and around wineries gives me the confidence to work with local teams to ensure every transfer, addition, and schedule is timely and done with care.
Fruit Sourcing
Vineyard sources
Depending on the direction of your wine project, fruit sources from high profile vineyards might be available. Although a higher price of entry, this is a route taken for vintners looking to get noticed and acclaim right out of the gates.
bulk wine, bottled wines
There are a couple of options beyond sourcing fruit from vineyards, or single vineyard designates. Purchasing wine on the bulk market is a great option when cutting your teeth in the wine industry. It’s a more affordable entry point, and it provides an opportunity to taste many different wines, from an endless number of locations, in California and beyond.
